Santa Hat Pins

Planet Studios made one or two Santa Hat pin's every year from 1991 till 1994.  Some were based on existing pins (Wolverine, Punisher, Venom) while the others were new designs.

Cover Pins

Here are a few of my "cover pins".   They were a brass blanks, with a safety pin back, about 3.5cm x 5cm, with a glued on paper reproduction of a famous recent cover or a classic cover. They were made around 1991-1993 and were "limited editions" of 2500. Not only that, but they don't last well. Over time the colour fads and if left out on display becomes sun bleached. They were mostly of 1st issues that had just come out like Spider-Man, Ghost Rider and the multiple X-Men issue #1 A to E covers.

Below is the Conan the Barbarian #241 cover pin.  I was so disappointed when this arrived after buying it on eBay.  As you can see, the printing is terrible.  The label has faded so badly you can't read the banner.  The label has also been miss cut and the spotting on it, is actually the printing.  I've also scanned the label from the box and a picture of the cover I gained by Google search.

Spider-Man #1 cover pin is better.  But still has dodgy printing and is slightly miss cut. On the Planet Studio's Pin & Jewellery : Marvel Product Inventory CP1 Spider-Man number one.

As you can guess, these pins aren't my favourite pins, but should be catalogued.  The pictures below were provided by Ryan Marks from his collection.
