S.H.I.E.L.D.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Strange Tales #135 (Aug. 1965), it often deals with superhuman threats.
The acronym originally stood for Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division. It was changed in 1991 to Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate.
Made in 1989. Planet pin #069. This version of the logo appeared for the second series of Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. from issues #1 September 1989 till issue #19 January 1991, the series lasted till issue#47 - May 1993. Not to best, visually, of the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo's created over the years.
